NPFL Week 30 Report
As the Nigerian Professional football league enters its last quarter, match day 30 has seen a bit of surprises and some usual suspect has done what they know how to do best. In this report we bring to you the high and low points across various venues in the NPFL for the match day 30.
Away Wins
Rivers United continue to be on the vanguard of the title chase as they secured a 3-2 win on the road at Uyo against Dakkada FC. This is Rivers United fifth away win for the season as they edge closer to the title.
Kano Pillars also secured an away victory against Remo Stars at their Ikenne. The 3-1 score line gave Kano Pillars their third win in a row and secured them 12th position on the table as at Match day 30. This also is just their second away win for this current season.
Biggest Win
Plateau United had a goal galore for match day 30 as they defeated Enugu Rangers 4-0. Zulkifilu’s first half brace followed by Chimezie and Sunday’s second half goals sealed the good current run for the Jos based club.
Red Cards
The only game that saw a red card was between Eyinmba FC and Nassarawa United. Ini Edem was red carded in the 86th minutes which compounded to the woes of the visiting Rangers.
League Leaders
Rivers United remains at the top of the log with 64 points accrued from 30 games while they are still clear of Plateau United with 7 points. However Plateau United whom sits second on the table with 57 points from 30 matches played are ahead of Rangers international with 9 points. Rangers occupy the third position on the log with 48 points from the same number of games.
