As the curtains of the season is drawing close, the league winner is becoming clearer and the relegation bound team are establishing themselves. Here are quick review of Match day 31 results played on the first day of June.

Match day 31 did not witness any away win across the match venues in the NPFL. Only two out of the nine matches played recorded draws with MFM F.C holding Akwa United at their home ground to a goalless draw. Also shooting stars and Remo Stars ended their game with a goal apiece. The game had a post-match violence which saw fans attack some media officers. Lobi Stars beat Kwara United 3 goals to 1 at their Aper Aku ground. This result make the team rise 2 points above the relegation waters with a game at hand.

Elsewhere, Gombe United finished their game with Heartland FC in a 3-2 scoreline. The leave Heartland FC in the relegation zone and Gombe United occupying the 8th position on the table.

With Rivers United beating Plateau United 2-0 in the mid-week match, they have extended their lead with 10 points and quickly establishing themselves as NPFL champions. Plateau United sits second on the log with 57 points and Enugu Rangers behind the second place with 6 points.
